La principal conclusión de la jornada es que our capacity to anticipate the team that would take the points was clearly superior to our capacity to forecast how those points would arrive.
En Turín-Lecce, laprediction was that the home team would win, yet the 1-1 confirms the value of Lecce. En Napoli-Lazio, our forecast leaned towards Napoli, but Lazio managed to leave with a point. Finally, the market was even and Juventus ultimately got a result that did not confirm our home selection.
Hubo cinco aciertos??: nine errors: Cagliari-Frosinone terminó 1-0, Turín-Lecce 1-1, Parma-Bologna 1-2, Napoli-Lazio 1-1, Génova-Milan 1-2, Monza-Atalanta 0-1, Inter-Como 2-0. En siete de estos games our baseline overestimated the likelihood of an open match.
Especialmente significant fue el error en Inter-Como. El 2-0 completamente clean result, but our over and BTTS were both wrong, because the goals came in a controlled structure and the home side kept the opponent scoreless. The same issue appeared in Monza-Atalanta: the winning team was identified, but the low-scoring script was not anticipated. Cagliari-Frosinone offered another clear case: the result was decided by a single goal, whereas we expected a more productive duel.
Ambos equipos marcan: cuatro aciertos
Our “sí” was correct in Venice-Udinese, Torino-Lecce, Napoli-Lazio and Fiorentina-Juventus. The “no” was wrong in all six matches where selected. This suggests that the estimate that both teams would score was overly influenced by the attacking potential of the favorites. It is not enough for two teams to have quality forwards: the opposing structure can limit the space and the number of clear chances, as demonstrated by Como’s inability to score against Inter.
La victoria 3-0 de Roma ante Sassuolo fue arguably la clearest result of the round and our most solid prediction of the evening. Hit the 1X2, but also acertamos el over 2.5. The margin and clean scoreline demonstrated a notable difference between the teams. Roma did not just win; it imposed a clear superiority and prevented Sassuolo from finding a response. The percentage of 73 % assigned to the home victory was the highest among our ten selections, and the market validated that confidence by confirming the outcome as well as the goal expectancy.
The only error associated with the game was the BTTS prediction. We had selected “sí” with 57 % confidence, but Sassuolo failed to score. The lesson is clear: in a match where one team has a considerable technical and positional advantage, the opposition’s scoring should not be treated as an automatic consequence of the favorite’s attacking strength. The fewer chances available to Sassuolo, the more likely it became that the result would feature one team’s goals and one team’s clean sheet. Our result forecast was excellent, while the goal-combination view needed greater awareness of how much the match structure could suppress one side’s production.
Inter 2-0 Como: our winner hit, but the underlying assumptions were wrong
Inter defeated Como 2-0 and hit our 1X2 prediction, although the result was less comfortable than the percentages may have implied. More importantly, both goal markets were wrong: we expected more than 2.5 goals and that both teams would score, but the match finished with two goals and no tanto for Como. This game captures the most important discrepancy of the round. We identified the stronger team, yet inferred a more expansive match than the eventual scoreline suggested.
The reference to Inter’s 48 % home-win probability was also lower than the confidence attached to Roma at 73 %. That difference should have prompted a more restrained assessment of the totals. Inter’s win was entirely correct, but the clean sheet made the game less like the high-scoring duel our markets anticipated. This was not a failure to understand which side would dominate; it was a failure to calibrate how the scoring would be distributed. In hindsight, the 2-0 should have been treated as evidence that control can be more decisive than offensive volume.
Monza 0-1 Atalanta: the biggest surprise on the pitch
Atalanta’s 1-0 win in Monza was the round’s principal upset in terms of result expectation. Our 48 % away selection was correct, but the over 2.5 and BTTS forecasts were not. The final score also contradicted the percentages that had suggested a productive encounter. Monza failed to find the net, and Atalanta showed that a single goal can be enough to resolve a match that appeared likely to produce several.
Atalanta did not need to win a high-scoring exchange; taking the minimum margin was sufficient. This type of result demonstrates why an away pick should not automatically be linked to an over bet. The identity of the favorite may be right without the proposed match rhythm being equally secure. Our 1X2 call deserves credit because identifying the away side in a difficult fixture was not easy, but the totals exposed a recurring analytical weakness: we projected several goals when the available information pointed to a more compact contest.
Los aciertos que merece la pena destacar
Venezia 2-1 Udinese: el pronóstico más redondo
Against Udinese in Venice, our three predictions were all correct. The 2-1 result validated the home selection, over 2.5 and Ambos marcan. The 43 % probability attached to the Venezia win was the lowest among our correct 1X2 calls, making this perhaps the most valuable result of the round in proportional terms. It was not merely a correct outcome; it was a useful selection from a match without overwhelming conviction.
The score was ideal for the predictions: each team scored, and the match moved beyond two goals without becoming excessive. Udinese’s goal did not prevent Venezia from taking the three points. This is what a well-calibrated forecast looks like when the selected outcome does not require a perfect performance. The home side had enough to win, both attacks retained enough danger to produce goals, and the total did not need to reach the extremes.
We also selected Bologna’s 1-2 victory correctly in Parma, using a 56 % probability. The problem was the rest of the analysis. We predicted under 2.5 and that only one team would score, yet the game produced three goals and both teams found the net. The away victory was the central part of the call and it landed, but our defensive reading of the match was too severe.
This is another example of a correct winner with an incorrect match profile. Bologna proved capable of winning away, but not in the controlled, low-scoring way we envisaged. Parma’s goal increased the total and invalidated the clean-sheet assumption. The result should strengthen confidence in team-strength assessments while encouraging greater caution when combining an away victory with an under and a “no” to both teams scoring.
AC Milan’s 2-1 victory in Génova was another correct 1X2 forecast. Milan had been given a 50 % chance of winning, and the result confirmed that the away side was the appropriate choice. As with Parma-Bologna, however, the under 2.5 and both-teams-not-to-score selections were wrong. The game delivered three goals and one from each side.
The useful conclusion is not that the defensive markets were always mistaken, but that they should have been assessed more independently. Winning teams can still participate in matches with two or three goals, particularly when the opponent creates enough pressure to force the game open. Milan secured the points without needing defensive immaculate play. Our winner identification was sound, but the total-goals judgment did not fully account for the competitive nature of the fixture.
We backed Frosinone with 44 % probability and expected more than 2.5 goals plus goals from both teams. None of the three predictions landed. Cagliari’s 1-0 victory was a direct rejection of our away selection and of our assumptions about attacking production. The result left Frosinone with 20 points in the supplied top eight, so the team’s place in the upper part of the table had been built on a stronger previous record than this match suggested.
Without inventing details about how the goal was created, the score itself provides the relevant evidence: the match was settled through a low-scoring margin, and Cagliari kept Frosinone scoreless. Our three connected assumptions—Frosinone winning, an open game and both attacks scoring—were too closely linked. A correct analysis should probably have given greater weight to the possibility that the home team would have a simpler route to victory through control and prevention.
Nuestra elección of Turín to win was wrong in a 1-1 draw, and the over 2.5 forecast also missed. The BTTS call was correct because both sides scored. Turín had received a 53 % probability of winning, making this one of the stronger selections to fail. Lecce did not need to dominate to secure the point; it was enough to match the home side’s output.
The mistake was partly a failure to recognize the value of the draw option in a close match. Turín was favored, but a 1-1 result was fully compatible with a relatively even contest. Once the teams exchange one goal each, the game becomes difficult to predict through winner alone. Our over-selection was less convincing after the initial goal expectation, while the BTTS call captured the central reality of the match.
Napoli 1-1 Lazio: el liderato también está.mkdir
Napoli-Lazio was another game in which the teams traded goals, as our BTTS prediction correctly indicated. We had selected a Napoli win, but the 1-1 draw denied us the 1X2 point. The over 2.5 call also failed because the game stopped at two goals.
Lazio’s performance was especially significant in the context of the standings. With 29 points and an unbeaten record of nine wins and two draws, the team left Napoli with a point and continued to lead the table. The result demonstrates the value of the current Serie A’s outstanding form, but also shows why an away point against Napoli should be treated as a major achievement rather than as a minor result. Our choice of Napoli was understandable at 42 %, but it lacked sufficient separation between the two teams to be treated as a strong forecast.
Only one point separates first from third, and the distinction is even tighter between second and third. Milan occupies fourth place with 24, while Como is fifth with 23. The round therefore leaves the title race extremely open: no team can afford to treat consistency in the top four as sufficient.
One striking feature is that the teams with the strongest current records include both the winners and the disciplined resisters. Lazio’s draw against Napoli added a point without surrendering its unbeaten run. Roma’s emphatic victory over Sassuolo kept it within touching distance of the top two. Inter’s win over Como maintained its position immediately behind Lazio, even though our totals forecast was wrong. These are signs of a leading group that can win in different ways: controlled, dominant or pragmatic.
The supplied table also features two surprise names in the upper half. Frosinone has 20 points despite losing 1-0 to Cagliari, and Bologna has 17 after its away win at Parma. Juventus, with 17 points, sits immediately below Bologna following the 2-2 draw with Fiorentina. That position creates an interesting contrast: the traditional heavyweight is not pulling away from mid-table, while teams such as Frosinone have obtained important results outside the initial group of headline contenders.
La serem: poder para Italia
Italian football is clearly present in the top group, but it is not monopolizing it. Como, Frosinone, Bologna and Atalanta all feature in the upper positions, while Monza’s home defeat shows that a traditional name does not guarantee control. The practical effect is a Serie A in which fixtures against mid-table opposition can still be decisive. That is particularly relevant to the reliability of the round’s forecasts: outside matches involving the most established names, selecting the favorite requires more caution than the raw probabilities might suggest.
The first correction is to separate winner selection from goal-combination markets. We won six 1X2 bets, but many of the goal predictions were linked to the same initial assumption rather than evaluated separately. The clearest evidence came in Monza-Atalanta: the away team won, but the match contained only one goal. A better model would ask whether Atalanta’s strength was enough to overcome Monza without producing an expansive game.
The second correction is to reduce automatic confidence in BTTS “yes” when one team has a pronounced advantage. Cagliari-Frosinone and Inter-Como both produced clean sheets for the winning side. Roma-Sassuolo also produced a 3-0, leaving Sassuolo without a goal. These results do not mean that BTTS is a flawed market; rather, they show that a superior side can control the ball and reduce the opponent’s ability to create meaningful chances.
The third adjustment concerns confidence thresholds. Cagliari’s 44 %, Napoli’s 42 % and Fiorentina’s 44 % selections were not strong enough to be treated as firm home or away picks. By contrast, Roma at 73 % and Parma-Bologna at 56 % were supported by healthier levels of conviction. The 1X2 performance would be even better if the lower-confidence selections were treated with greater tactical or contextual caution.
Balance final y próxima jornada
La jornada dejó un balance doble. Por un lado, el 60 % de acierto en los resultados confirma que our general reading of the strength of the teams was useful. Por otro, el 30 % en los totales de porterías y el 40 % en ambos equipos marcan muestran que our timing of expected goals needs a more disciplined approach. The winners were usually identified, but the intended match narratives were not always realized.
The most convincing successes were Venice-Udinese, where all three markets were right, and Roma-Sassuolo, where the result and the over landed despite a missed BTTS call. The most instructive errors were Cagliari-Frosinone, Monza-Atalanta and Inter-Como: in each, the selected winner was correct, but the scoreline was much more restrained than our total-goals forecasts suggested.
For the next round, the table offers several compelling angles. Lazio must protect its one-point lead; Inter needs to keep the pressure on the leader after a controlled win over Como; and Roma can move level or even beyond Lazio if it continues to combine defensive control with attacking production. Milan and Como remain within touching distance in fifth and fourth positions, while Frosinone, Juventus and Bologna are engaged in a tight middle group. The next set of predictions should place more weight on the likely match structure, particularly when one side has a clear strength advantage but the opposing defense may keep the total low.
